How MOTO Credit Card Processing Works

The model below describes how MOTO credit card processing works

  • Your business receives a call by phone or mailorder.

  • You physically enter the customers credit card infomation and run the transaction thru a terminal or payment gateway.

  • The processing system connects to Swipers.com's processor for authorization.

  • The processor sends sale information on to the bank that issued the credit card and checks for a valid card and if the amount is available.

  • The bank sends a decline or approval code message back to the processor.

  • The merchant must "batch" or "settle" their processing sales by the end of the business day to finalize the transaction. Some terminal and software payment gateways can be setup to automatically "batch" or "settle" the transactions.

  • The sales amounts are then transferred from the card issuing bank and are electronically deposited into the merchant's checking account. Transfer time is usually one or two business days from the time of the "batch/settle" time to where funds are available in your business account.
